i have a 2018 renegade sport 4x4 and the first time I went off-road in the desert I got a flat .i knew The stock continentals weren’t great but I figured I would wear them out and then go for something else . Anyway I am going to get bfg k02s . I can get the stock size 215 65 16 but was wondering if anyone has put 225 75 16s on and if so did they rub or effect the gear ratio? This is still my commuter car so I want to keep it close to stock .

If you go to some of the tire sites they have tire size calculators that will let you compare how different sizes compare to stock. For some reason it seems like it often doesn't work to cut and paste the address so if it doesn't then just go under tips and guides and look for size calculator but here is a link for one-- https://www.discounttiredirect.com/learn/tire-size-calculator

Personally I like to stay with stock sizes as I have had mechanics tell me that today's cars time things like the antilock brakes and accident avoidance programs and such to the stock size and it can screw things up switching sizes, and I have heard some dealers use having non standard sized tires as a reason to not honor the warranty, but who knows. I actually just ordered the General Grabbers in stock 16" size as I have used them before and had good luck, and it's always hard to believe the KO2's are as much better as the extra cost, but I always consider them :p. You'll have to let me know what you think of them, especially as far as snow traction.

I live in the snow belt and had to get to the vet in a nasty storm once with the Grabbers and going up this steep hill had to come to a complete stop behind cars that just spun to a complete stop and then drifted off the side of the road. After making sure everyone was ok I was able to take off from a dead stop without even really spinning my wheels, which made me decide to stick with the Grabbers. But you always wonder if something else might be even better...

I have a 2016 renegade sport 4x4 and put on 225x75r16 BFG KO2 tires. Yes they did rub and spacers are needed as well. It does affect gearing ever so slightly. Not as far as ABS or anything like that, but the speedometer is off by a couple MPH once you get up to speed. The tires themselves have served me well for over 40k miles. They've survived light to moderate off roading as well as severe snow in the winters here in south east Wisconsin. If you prefer to keep it stock, the size may not be right for you, but I definitely recommend the brand.

I have the 1.4 6-speed Lattitude and put BFG KO2's size 225/70/16. I love them! They fit perfect with no lift, no spacers, and no rubbing. I will say that the speedo did change a little, but for some reason, the stock tires would say 50 mph when I was going 47. Now it is exactly correct (50 is 50). I got them from simpletire.com and used Paypal with 6 months no interest.

Reviving a dead thread, but do 225x75x16's still rub even with spacers? Also what if you throw in a 2" coil lift? Also can the stock 16" wheels handle these tires?

My tires did still rub. I ended up trimming the inner fender liners. I have 1" wheel spacers, the daystar 1.5" spacer lift and eibach lift springs in the rear. I'm not using the stock wheels, but this size is not that big for 16" wheels.
