So I'm using the stock head unit in my 16 Renegade Lattitude. My phone just did another update from standard 8.1 to 8.1.2, now the UConnect features don't work near as well with my phone as they used to. I can no longer receive text messages through the system as I used to, and running bluetooth music is kind of hit and miss. My wife connected her Iphone 7 to the system recently on a road trip, and it behaved way better than it did with my Google Pixel. Is there an update I can get for the system to play nicer with Android devices?
Is this something I can do with my phone via the UConnect app? Full disclosure, I bought my Renegade used from Enterprise Car Sales, and am waiting to get some title paperwork from my credit union to use as proof of ownership, so it's nothing I can remedy overnight.
    Thanks in advance.

I had a similar issue after I updated the UConnect software. The fix was simply to reset the bluetooth connection (delete your phone from the radio and make a new connection). I don't know if it will help your issue, but it would be a good place to start.

Yeah, forgetting then repairing worked. Still not as good as how my wife's Iphone works, but definitely serviceable.
    Thanks!

Yeah, I'm just not getting these head units that Jeep's putting in these Renegades. Sometimes they work like a champ, sometimes they don't work at all with a phone. I wish I had the cash to spend on a Kenwood with the right hardware to link to the computer to fix this, but you're looking at $500 just for hardware to do this.
