I've been reading several forums with an area for Renegade owners and this is the best one so far. Bought my 2017 Sport 4x4 2.4L 10 months ago and love it. I keep going back and forth on whether to spend money on mods (lift, tires, sliders, winch, etc) or wait and get a Wrangler. Found a Jeep club out my way that go on trail runs occasionally and have yet to hear back on whether or not they'd allow a Renegade to tag along. I found some pictures and comments they have posted in the past (not too far back) where they make fun of the Renegades, so I'd really LOVE to show up one day when they do a trail run just to show them that the baby Jeep wasn't made to sit in a driveway and look cute.
Welcome to the forum! I get made fun of all the time by owners of "real" Jeeps. They never wave at me, and they'll stop to look at my mods and will turn away as soon as they see me because how dare I consider my renny a Jeep. It's absolutely hilarious when I see someone that had bee making fun of me out on the trails I go on, completely stuck in mud or sand and I'll throw my selector in the proper setting and shoot right past them. I sometimes call my renny a Wrangler Jr, the heritage and spirit of a Wrangler but with some new tricks up it's sleeves.
Awesome! I can't wait to get started on mine. There's an offroad specialty shop I found near me that I'm calling this week (when work allows - if I have a few minutes) to get some prices.
I've already seen 2 I want from them - Radius PreRunner & Radius Expedition. APT has a 4" lift kit I've been eyeballing too. Then the list continues ....... Warn winch, rock sliders, cross rails & basket, tires & wheels (want to go to 16" wheels)
Well, I got totally shocked on the way home from work this afternoon ..... A highly mod'd Wrangler waved at me. I thought at first it was a fluke, but he waved again. I was so damned shocked I didn't have a chance to wave back by the time he passed me. It all happened so fast.
No worries, I don't think anyone in a renny really expects to get waved at. I know I've done that a couple times, you get thrown off guard when they actually wave because your not expecting them to. I've resorted to making my own wave hand decal for my side mirror for the off chance someone actually waves at me and I don't catch it
