What success have you guys had with swapping out your lights in pursuit for some cleaner, whiter temp range lights? I’ve had some LEDs but just recently had one of the headlights quit on me. My DRLs hyper flashed making them unusable. And my fog lights work great except for the dim flash when my vehicle is powered off. So really I’m batting one outa three. I’ve got the ‘17 deserthawk trim. What worked for you guys for your headlights, DRLs, and fog lights? Links would be greatly appreciated!
led headlights (h13) and led fogs (h11), i used BPS Lighting on amazon. get thier T2 lights. bright, 6000k white, decent cutoff so you dont blind other drivers. also, canbus safe, no flicker or bulb out warnings
It doesn't have to say it will fit. H13 headlights, h11 fogs. That's is the bulb size for North American renegades. I know they fit, I've been running them in my 2017 trailhawk for over a month now.
Well, then.....I'll order the H11 and H13 for my Daughter's '17 Limited for he birthday. Looking to replace ALL the bulbs...in and out...and looking for suggestions the are truly canbus friendly with no issues.
yup, H13 and H11 from BPS ( their T2 lights) will work great, no errors. as for the rest of the lights, i'm not having much luck. I put a set of 921s in my reverse lights, no codes but they would dimmly glow for about an hour after shutting the engine off. I just soldered on a resister and fixed that. I replaced my map lights up front with a set of led 194s I got free from the retrofit source with my last order. but they too glow a bitaftur turning them off. it's so dim that I don't notice it unless I look up at them, but man when they are on... they are bright. I read on another renegade forum that all outside lights are on the canbus system, the interiors are not. not sure if that's true, but it sounds right compared to ofthe vehicles.
I installed the BPS T2 H13 LED headlights today, and I'm very happy with them. As I was told, no flicker, no error codes and they are very white. Pretty easy install and a small tool was included so you can rotate the light to be properly seated in the headlamp housing.
Dang those look great! I have been looking at the Opt7's fluxbeam x and the Hikari leds also, im just worried about the longevity of these lights. Do you know if these BPS come with a warranty? Whats the difference between the G7, B2 and the T2? Thanks for posting pics too, you rock!!
I've read that LED's last 2-3x as long as halogen bulbs. They use a lot less wattage so I can believe that stat. They do have a one year warranty and I'm not sure about the differences in models. I believe they may be just newer models.
Anyone have pics of the T2s in the foggies? Tired of my housings being burnt up by Halogen bulbs... -_-
I'll send a link to a post on Reddit where I listed the lights I got and necessary info. Hope it helps! https://www.reddit.com/r/JeepRenegade/comments/86r489/ive_seen_numerous_posts_inquiring_ledshids/
I bought the t2 H11’s for the drls and it doesn’t have the same connection...the OEM plug is 3 prong and this guy is a 2 pronger...so am I missing something here?
I just picked these up as well and first impressions are good. The clean white light looks way better, especially with a white exterior. I'm debating how best to orient the lights though. The write-ups I've seen indicate that the LEDs need to be facing horizontally. I had to rotate them 90 degrees from how they were new in box. The low-beams look pretty great and they aren't dazzling when I stand in front of the car. I'm not sure about the high-beams though. The driver's side light seems to flash brighter than the passenger side. Inside the car, it seems like I get better illumination with the low-beams than the high. I'm wondering how you guys have installed these. LEDs facing left and right or up and down like they come in the box? The fogs face left and right so I assume the headlights would be the same. Would rotating the lights 180 degrees make any difference? Maybe I just need to mess around with them until I find what looks best.
Funny you should mention this. I just corrected mine last night. I origionally bought my H13 for my F150, but pulled the LEDs when I traded the truck in on the Renegade. straight out of the box, the LEDs were correct for the F150, it seems the bulb position was rotated in that housing, so they pointed horizontal. The Jeep has a more normal housing, and the LEDs positioned vertical, I never noticed, drove that way for a few weeks, low beam output was amazing, but highbeam was horriable. Also I noticed that when I switched from low to high, they were reversed.. low was projecting the beam higher up (I checked this against a wall... and confirmed) So, as mentioned above, I tinkered last night, first I swapped the high and low wires around in the factory harness. it helped, but then as I put the bulb back in, i noticed the led position was vertical.... and I had an "ah ha" moment.... so i swapped the wires back to stock, pulled the LEDs and proceeded to rotate them 90 deg. All I can say... holy Sh**...errrr....Poop....lol Lows are bright, cast decent down the road (still no comparison to HIDs in a projector retrofit....it's coming), the highs definatly point down the road further and slightly higher, but don't seem as bright. Almost nicer to drive with lows....especially with the LED fogs on too. Next mod will be the Bambi mod...fogs on with highs too here are some pics.... 1st: low beam 2nd: low beam with fogs 3rd: high beam
