I dont know if anyone else has had this issue, but when i open my rear tailgate door i have a hard time keeping it closed. I close it then it keeps on opening by itself. After multiple times it will eventually stay closed. Is there some special way to keep it closed? Is my anger dance that i do when i am closing it the trick to get it closed? Please any help will be much appreciated.
Hi Mapi xDWARx, I checked to see if there were any technical service bulletins for your liftgate. I did find a previous STAR case which your dealership can look in to and check on the wiring to see why you're having an issue. If you needed any help setting up an appointment, let me know! Thank you for the response. As of today the lift gate has been operating correctly, if it does it again i will be sure to take it in.
I had this issue several times after I first got my TrailHawk(all in about a weeks time), and haven't had it since. I never did figure out the issue, but others have had it as well. I was late for work one morning because I couldn't get the freaking tailgate to latch
If my TH is locked and I go to open hatch without unlocking the other doors it won't stay closed, but if I open the hatch unlock all the doors then close hatch it will stay closed. Go figure.
Since i posted this the hatch has been operating properly. I dunno what it was. But now i have another curiosity... I noticed underneath there are 2 button, one opens the door the just makes the jeep beep. What is that beeping one for??
The button on the left unlocks the hatch. The button on the right locks all the doors (and makes your Jeep beep if that's how you have your settings). I know the hatch will automatically open if you've left the key in the cargo area (I did this once and it took me a while to figure out why it was doing that!) Your issue might be different, but I thought I'd at least mention it.
