Have you run through the original washer fluid yet? The Renegade comes filled with a European spec washer fluid of some kind that has a methanol content that is much higher than what we get in the here in the US. It Smells like someone dumped a bottle of vodka in your vents when you use spray the fluid (DO NOT use it right before going through a sobriety check point!!!). It goes away after you fill the reservoir with some new fluid.

The same problem persists. There currently is no fix for it according to one of the dealerships i took it to. They know of the issue having to do with the fluid causing the vibrations in 5th and 6th gears, apparently. Kind of used to it now although its still annoying. I plan on getting rid of this vehicle though in the future. Not big enough for me sadly.

I had the same issue, and they had to replace the rear diff. It hasn't vibrated since.

Did you have any other shifting problems? recently I have noticed at highway speeds slow to 7th and it wants to stay there . I hardly see 9th @75 mph at times can't put it in 9th ,only stays there in shift mode. also just a real loss of response. Not the same jeep I drove off the lot

I haven't had any issues like that. I wonder if you are having an electrical control module issue.

I don't know but it has to be checked out. It's not good being stuck at 65 mph when you need to go 75

I confirm this. I just had my dealership replace the rear diff to solve this issue, and it hasn't vibrated since (i've only drove it for a day now though) It also seems to shift better.

It took the dealer two times looking at it to replace the rear diff. Apparently there was finally a star case updated in October about this. Warranty covers the repair. If your dealership isn't replacing the rear diff to fix it, have them do a "star case" or whatever... they should see the records in there now.

I took mine in yesterday and they tried to tell me that it was just the way it runs. I showed them the forum comments, which they told me was insignificant but said something about a star case and were going to look into it. I am in a new Jeep Renegade rental now and I don't have any vibration issues. It runs and shifts normally although I can tell it seems to try to vibrate when shifting. I'm hoping they resolve my issue. I do love my Renegade.

They tried to tell me the same thing the first time I had them look at this.. After they look into the star case you can tell them "I told ya so"

If they can't find the star case let me know, and I'll give you the star case # my dealership used.

They told me that it was an exhaust pipe causing the rattling noise and ordered the part right after I posted last time. They said it would be in the week of the 21-27 and still waiting to hear from them. I called this a.m. and they said it was on backorder and would check when the service department opens. They made no mention of the star case and the vibration seems to be getting worse, especially when I'm in a lower gear and have to accelerate. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and have them repair the exhaust pipe but if it still does the vibration, will take it directly back. Frustrated.

It sounds like it actually might be a different problem than what I had. Mine would only vibrate when cruising (Not accelerating) between 30-40 MPH. It would only do it when it's in automatic mode, switching it to manual shifting would make the vibration stop. If yours doesn't stop when you switch it to manual mode, it's not the same issue. Either way, I hope they get it fixed.
