This is something I've been wanting to do since we first brought Renny home and I apologize for not getting it done sooner. Certainly, for those of you who are wanting to modify your Jeep Renegade, I'm sure you'll all appreciate being able to see what it looks like underneath one if only to get a better idea of what we're up against. Anyway, here are some close up and detailed photos that we took of our 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there might be something you're hoping to get a closer look at.

Starting from the back, here are some detailed photos to show you what the underside of a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk looks like.

Here are a couple of shots that show off what the Jeep Renegade passenger side rear suspension, strut, sway bar and half shaft look like.

Here you can see the driver side which also shows the exhaust routing.

Close up shot of the Jeep Renegade driver side rear half shaft connected to the flange at the differential. Notice how the exhaust pipe is bent for clearance.
In this shot, you can see the rear differential, crazy long rear drive shaft and gas tanks protected by the skid plates that Jeep Renegade Trailhawks come standard with.

And here are a couple of shots to show you what you're working with for a muffler on a Jeep Renegade.

Moving to the front of our Jeep Renegade, here's are some photos that will show just how much a Trailhawk is armored up.

Guess it gets a bit hot down here as a window is left open for the exhaust for venting.
Close up shot of what the Jeep Renegade driver side A-Arm, axle shaft and steering components.

Here you can get a better look at the Jeep Renegade sway bar, sway bar link and front strut.
This shot will help you to see just how much or, should I say "little" space there is between the brake caliper and the inside of a 17" Jeep Renegade Trailhawk wheel.
At it's narrowest point, I measure about 0.75" from the caliper to the wheel but at the widest point, it's more like an inch.
Here are a few shots from the center of the Jeep Renegade looking forward.
Here a couple of shots of the belly. Again, you can really see just low long the Jeep Renegade rear drive shaft is.
Photo of the center of our Jeep Renegade Trailhawk looking back toward the differential and muffler. You can see that the rear drive shaft is using an Rzeppa joint similar to the JK Wrangler.
And that's about it! If there's anything I missed and/or you would like to see, please let me know and as soon as I get a chance, I will be sure to rack Renny up again and get some more shots for you. Otherwise, my next step will be to pull off the wheels and struts to see what we'll be working with to get this Jeep Renegade beefed up a bit :)

    Great shots, thank you!

What are your first thoughts after seeing the underside about a lift and/or larger tires?

I'm going to have to pull the wheels off to get a better idea of what we're up against. I will also have to pull a front and rear strut to see if what if anything it'll match up with to give us more options. Tire size is going to be limited mainly to the rear wheel well openings as there really isn't any room for trimming. There's also the issue with the bottom of the spring perch on the struts as they sit really really close to the tire as is. But really, I'm not looking to build a monster Renegade - just something that will allow me to run a set of good AT's or MT's. From the look of things, I am definitely getting a better feeling for running wheel adapters to clear 16" wheels and that should help out a lot.

Next time you rack it can you please take some shots of the front and rear bumpers from the underside and their mounting points. This will give us some better ideas for aftermarket bumpers, winch mounts, bull bars and trailer hitches.

LOL!! I wish but then, I'd actually want it for one of our JK's too :)

The only real way to get a look at how the bumpers mount is by pulling off the fender liners. I can do that but only after I have a bit more time on my hands. I'll see what I can do.

I hope so. It'll take more Renegades out there before any manufactures step up to the plate so right now - we're kind of waiting on FCA to get more units here in the states.

Thanks for the pictures. Is anyone else worried when it comes time to replace CV joints? I don't see a clear way to replace the joint with out removing the differentials? Or is it underneath the boot? Thank you!

I've been a member since day 1 maybe. Anyway your the only guy really big into the toaster jeep. How about makeing money with it. Since we live in Nevada you have a proven track record. Why don't you contact jeep- Las Vegas and have a toaster edition. Take yours to the dealer have them mod and sell them from there dealership. Your posting on u tube is 100% free advertising and they throw you a few bennies. Maybe even a free basic 4x4 and you make it your own toasted tuff. They sell more mild off road jeeps with your u tube channel.
Just my 2 cents when can I order a 2017. I really would like a diesle for mpg

Nice to see under another TH. I thought there was some undershields missing on mine as it has the tabs for the clips along the underbody . Yours is as bare ass as mine

You think it would be possible to do a smooth belly pan on this pretty easily? I would love to smooth it out for aerodynamics.
