Hi to all forum members from Portugal... Being the owner of a Trailhawk for a year, no problems at all and a very capable offroad and rock crawling Jeep... It is not a monster trunk but best in class for sure about offroad capabilities. Very happy with it and with these comunities related with the Renegade that are proof alone that the renegade is a great car.

JRita, welcome to the forum. Just curious, do they sell renegade diesel in your country? I wish they sell them here in the US because I have friends in Brazil and they do have them there.

The 2.0 diesel is nice to drive. Mine is the 170 very good on the highway and long distance cruising. Getting around 42 uk mpg general use. Only complaint is the engine is noisy compared to a lot of the competition. Watch out for any oil leaks. Had the turbo feed pipe crack. Started as just an oil smell then got worse over a couple of months until it was leaving spots when parked. Been a few reported having the same issue.

Yes in Europe our cars are made in Italy and Diesel is preferred in Europe, for the Trailhawk I think only the Diesel multijet II is avaiable with 170hp. It can give 200km per hour and crall high climbs without any problems.
For America the cars are made in Brasil and you have the more powerful Tigershark engine, we don't have that here.
We also don't have the sliding sun visors, remote start, but I also read that for America there are no Glass Roof available?
Also we don't have the front red hooks, because pedestrian safety, and that means the trailhawk don't have pull points for towing off road, I also read people complained about breaking the regular hitch point that should be only usable on road. I have to order them from US but they are really expensive.

Correct my ignorance "front hook is not safe for pedestrian" you guys use your cars to chase people with your front hooks? or tie people on it and drag them around? If you hit a pedestrian, would the entire bumper also part of the hazard? Or you can get away hitting them if you don't have a tow hook? I am serious to know the reasoning behind it :/

Not allowed any sharp or pointed bits sticking out past the bumper line on the front in Europe. Pedestrian safety apparently.

Yes because getting hit by 1.5 ton vehicle is so much worse if there are tow hooks?

I couldn't agree more. You are so lucky in the USA with what you can fit or mod. Here in Spain you can't even fit spotlights change tyre size anything that differs from when it came out the factory. You even have to have the tow hitch inspected after its fitted at a government station. Rest of Europe is not as bad. But here is so far behind.

Funny thing is they also require them to drive in the left side of the street :)

I have seen another vídeos of Renegades in US and they say to be mada in Italy.
I know the Brasil factory is newer then the one in Italy, it would be curious to know if the 2016 above models are still from Europe?
Why with a factory in America would the Euro made Renegades should ship far to America?
From what is described in Wikipedia there are 3 Renegade factories, America, Europe and Asia:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Renegade_(BU)

If someone has the info on this it woud be nice to know and why, what about Canada as well?

I had ordered my Trailhawk and had to wait 3 months, if they ship the cars for America as well this explains why.

Here is a really nice vídeo from the Brasil factory... Is in Portuguese but it is nice to check from inside.

About the hooks, that is why they are RED, from all the slaughtered pedestrians!!!

In Europe there is much confusion about anything in the front bumper. no Bull Bars, whiches, hooks or anything, you can have them but they must be certified, pass through a special inspection and anotaded in the oficial car document. Also the same about tires and suspension, any factory change is difficult to obtain, but possible,

Here in Portugal we can, but most people think not, you have to get certified parts, then go to a special inspection and pay to get it legal. It is possible to change tire sizes, snurkles, whinches etc, try to get info from 4X4 stores and car garages, they usually know how to do it. I'm going to try to get a winch...
