So I tried my new (used) 2015 trailhawk in a small Illinois snowfall and I was reminded how much of a disappointment Wrangler SRA are. Breaking performance was shot with only 1/2" of snow on the pavement with 4 wheel drive on. I Doing research and I am looking at getting new tires.

I was considering getting Falken Wildpeak HT 215/65R17 at $520/set or BFgoodrich KO2 (LT225/65R17) at $790/set.

I found some 225/60R17 All Terrain Continental TerrainContact at $600 a set. It is almost 3/8" smaller diameter.

But I also read the KO2 does dip the MPG down a little and I do want to avoid that. I do 98% of my driving on the highway and drive ALOT for my job (sometimes 400 miles a week). I do a little off roading but nothing too extreme (dirt and gravel roads a weekend or two in the summer. And a 10 minute shortcut near my place).

I am leaning towards the Terrain Contact because I don't want to lose MPG, but I need something that will work in the snow and what little offroad driving I do. I should also note being on a budget, the Continentals seem more appealing.

    Thoughts? Opinions?

And that's without a lift? Or did you do the lift kit already?
