First post, you guys have some great info here, I'm soaking it all in. I'm giving up my 07 Liberty and moving on. I just picked up a 2016 Trailhawk from the dealer this evening. It had 15 miles on the clock, no issues at all when I checked it out at the dealer. I cannot get into 4WD Lock and cannot select using selec-tract. I get a very brief flash in the display "Driving Mode Not Available". Same if I try to go to 4Low. Hill Assist gets me "Hill Assist" not available. I checked online and the owner's manual. I'm not seeing that I'm doing anything wrong. I'm going to call the dealer, but before I do that, I figured I'd post and see if there was something I'm missing. Is there some sort of break-in period? Or is my google-fu weak? Thanks, TheFoo
From my experience this past weekend rock crawling, i could only go into 4lock when in neutral or drive. 4 low seemed to only work when in neutral. I was also able to lock and unlock 4wd when driving as well as turn off 4low. If you are in rock mode, which requires you to be in 4low, you can still turn off 4 low while moving however itll put you in auto mode as well. Auto mode was useless other than to go down fire roads in 2wd. Hope this helps. I got my trailhawk 2 months ago and even i had trouble going to 4lock without 4low trying to enable at the same time and getting the same error.
I brought it to the dealer. They think it is a setting. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
Hi TheFoo, I'd be happy to follow up with your dealership for you if needed, just PM our page with your VIN and let me know! Andrea Jeep Social Care Specialist
Update. Dealer advised me it is apparently a loose cable from the control module. They have advised me they are going to complete the repair but want the car overnight to test it. The GM has advised they will reimburse me my first month payment for my inconvenience. Best possible solution if it fixes the problem. They were going to replace the control module by cannibalizing a vehicle from the showroom. I was concerned about them taking a module from a non-Trailhawk and the possible implications of that. Will advise tomorrow after I get it back. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
OK. Hopefully the last update on this. I picked up the Jeep this evening, 4wd and selec-terrain seem to be functioning properly now. I'm convinced that going to the GM (who turned out to be the dealership owner) is what made the difference in getting it done so quickly. I'm also convinced that the Jeep was functioning perfectly last night, as I received the call that it was ready at 08:06 AM today... Now to see if the dealership lives up to its promise to reimburse me for my payment as promised. Thanks everyone for their posts, I appreciated the info. I also spent my evening removing all of the badging from the Trailhawk, removing the red around the "Renegade" badges and plasti-dipping the trailhawk badge. They'll all go back on this weekend. Next week, aftermarket homelink so I don't have to carry around 2 garage door openers.
How did the Homelink install go? Wanting to get this mod myself. Have a 2016 Limited and am so over the two remotes. Can't believe this wasn't an offered option.
It went perfectly. I have a grey headliner and black interior. I chose the black 3 button unit and they installed it in the headliner right in front of the overhead console. It looks like it was designed to be there. Programming it was simple and range is pretty good. Definitely worth it for the convenience. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
Excellent! Did the dealer install it? Was looking to see if I could find a mirror replacement to have it there but your approach may be best. Really want to get away from the separate remotes.
I went aftermarket and had an installer do it outside of the dealer. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
