Is there anyone that knows how well the ko2 tires fit at this size on the renegade with the lift and spacers??
You would definitely have to do the pinch seam/fender liner mod. I don't know of anyone that has put that size on. I have 235/65R17s and I wouldn't try any bigger unless I could test fit them first
Thank you for that because I wanted a bigger size than the 225 but I want the ko2s so I guess I'll stick with the 225 and play it safe
Definitely would take A LOT of cutting to fit 245s. Ive seen one or two with that size tire, and both involved metal removal.
Wayalife did 225/75R16 and has a write up for it, pinch seams and some work on the fender liner. You can read his write up for the how to. You would be going one size bigger than he did.
I have a trailhawk and I ordered BF Goodrich mud terrain T/A KM2 245/70r17. I'm putting the day star lift on this weekend and will be working with my body shop guy on how to make room for these tires in there next week. Updates to come
Good luck, almost certainly going to have to remove metal and probably even have to do something about the plastic liners as well. Post pics when you get them in, I'm curious as to how much it will take. Stock wheels?
My 245 still haven't come in and I plan on trying to utilize back spacing on the wheels instead of spacers to hopefully make room that way. But the fenders will be cut back a ways for sure. So far I have the daystar lift, k&n air filter, and roof cargo basket installed. As well as one decal for my toaster from wayalife. I ordered another decal but one of the letters on it came messed up. Current pic
If you want to know about overall size difference this website is helpful in determining what the differences are. https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc
I have 225 65r 17 BFG KO2's. No power loss or adverse effect on braking. Lost about 2mpg with the tires and lift though.
Def. keep us posted! Really interested to see the final results and if that extra work looks worth it to me. Thanks so much!
it is taking longer than expected waiting for these tires but I'm 90%sure they will be on with in two weeks. And yes that K&N filter is a cheap quick power boost. Take your stock air filter out and see just how crazy thick that thing is, it's just starving your engine of fresh air.
someone just posted this in another thread: https://www.instagram.com/p/BHlID7tBw-U/?taken-by=evoshoppics ...evo has 245/65r17s at stock height without spacers, but did some sort of strut modification (i dont know what it is, but maybe they cut the spring perch?) is there a legitimate risk associated with running 245 width tire on a 6.5" rim, or is it close enough? every 245 tire i looked at says 7" is the minimum...
Eddie said, on Wayalife, that he cut the strut perch. You should be able to run them on the stock run, with no problems. http://wayalife.com/showpost.php?p=733255
