Going up 2 sizes you might have to trim pinch seams. I believe that's same size different brand that Wayalife installed with Daystar lift and he had to trim pinch seams
Will almost certainly rub, you would have to trim metal to keep from ruining the front tires. People still have issues with that size tire running 1.5" lifts.
I stand corrected, those look great. I have read online where several people had problems with that tire size rubbing, glad you came out alright!
The steel rims are the original Jeep ones installed on the Sport version. Tyres are BF Goodrich KO2's 225/75 R16. Spacers: 0,5 cm front; 2,3 cm rear. Lift kit 1' by G-force.
WOW THIS LOOKS GREAT. So with your 225/75/16 and a .5" spacer lift they fit fine. So i'm thinking about ordering Toyo OpenCountry AT-II which are 235/65/17 on the stock rims with 1.25" wheel spacers and a 1.5" daystar lift should fit no problem? Or is .8" an inch extra width too much? In essance how much clearance do you have when turning the wheels? is it the width that becomes a problem or the height? Yours i see are 29.3" tall and these would be 29" (Daystar claims you can fit up to 2 tire sizes large on their lift)
On the front wheels if you use 1,25" spacer it will rub. Maximum size of spacer with 1" lift kit is 1 cm. A little more with your Daystar lift kit 1,5". I Think you can have no rubbing up to 2 cm spacer. With a .5 spacer at 3/4 turn ( critical point for the pinch seam) I have 1,5 cm before rubbing. Both width and height must be taken into account. 235 will take you .5 cm closer to the strut, but reducing the tyre sidewall to 65 this shoudn' t be an issue.
I just put on the G-Force lift, 1" Renegade Ready spacers and 225/65R17 KO2s and I dont have rubbing issues, but I can tell you with this setup, if i had went with the 225/75R17 tires or the 225/70s (not sure which was the next size up), they would definitely would rub. My tires at full lock are about an 1/8inch form the pinch weld part of the fender liner. I believe there is a little play in the fender liner though, so the rubbing would only be on the fender liner, not the pinch weld itself.
Thanks @anthomico! So in your opinion with the 235/65r17's and my daystar lift + 1.25" wheels spacers i shouldn't rube? Or are you saying i'll need to get thinner spacers for the front in order to fit them in the front?
Sh*tttttt!!! lol ;-( so the only reason i wanted to get the 235/65r17 was because it makes my total lift another 1" higher. but i guess i can just go with the 225/65r17 K02's, technically they are better tires too, but dam, i wanted to go with the 29" tires. If i keep the same spacers do you think i'd be able to fix the rubbing by trimming a little plastic or do you think it'll require cutting the weld seam?
You have to cut metal, plastic is distant not more than 2-3 mm from metal in that point. Not enough to cut only plastic. Why not buy thinner spacers for the front wheels ? Not so expensive to replace
I have 235/65r17 on my trailhawk. To fit I put 1.25" spacers, 1.5" Daystar lift, and had to cut out the pinch seems. No issues now. I doubt you would need the spacers in the first place, except to clear the strut. Maybe 1" would work minimum. They make the tire swing out more but I like the wider stance.
1" = 2,5 cm Too much, it will rub and you have to cut metal. Maximum size for front wheels spacers is 2 cm (better 1cm), without cutting and clearing the strut
Thank you!! So it sounds like if I just remove the spacers all together id be able to fit 235/65r17's? Toyo Makes the Open Country tires that size i belive and thats a full 29" tire. Sorry to be a pain about this.
