Hey all using or considering the daystar lift- I installed this lift a while back and noticed that the links supplied (some off brand) differed from the links shown in the video (moog). I have also noticed some comments in this group on the cheapo links wearing out and knocking prematurely. My links began knocking after a few thousand miles. I contacted daystar and they told me that the moog application for the links were for a Chevy Cobalt (Longer to accommodate the lift in the front). Just wanted to show this pic that shows what the links looked like when I end to change them. Pic shows bent cheapo link and the moog link (noticeably thicker) ready to go in.
I have the ATP 2" lift and the swaybar end links were very noisy and one ended up breaking at the weld. The rest of the lift components seem well made, but the end links are not great.
Here are my Moog end links that came with my Daystar lift (bottom) and the factory end links (top). This is my second set of Moog links to go bad. I've been using the factory ones now for a few weeks. Has anyone had better luck with the Avid end links with their lift?
The AVID 2" Economy Lift I just installed included heim joint sway bar links for the front. They are essentially bomb proof, not that I plan to find out. (pictured below, two left most components) These things are rugged, and super easy to install. They are not sold separately from the kit, however I'm sure with enough inquiries they can make them a separate product. I personally want a set to replace the stock rear links to match the fronts. I don't have enough miles on my lift to see about the durability, but heim joint suspension components have been used for racing and off road applications for years without issues.
Has anyone figured out where to get replacement sway bar links? I installed the 2.5" avid kit a couple years ago. My link bushings are shot now. I tried emailing avid, but no response so far. I think I heard they went out of business.
I went through a lot of different Sway Bar links on my lifted (Avid 2.5") Renegade, And while I found some that lasted longer (White Line) I never found any that really were indestructible, ATP Came out with a set that I think might have done the trick, but it was after I'd already traded in my Rengade. http://americantrailproducts-com.3dcartstores.com/Renegade-Compass-Sway-bar-End-links_p_107.html
