Okay, I slept in this morning and missed a ride with two fellow Toasters on here - again, sorry gentlemen. Anywho...the bug was in me bad so I headed up to Rowher with a neighbor and tooled around a bit. Being super immature I couldn’t NOT drive through the mud. Below is the video of my second pass through. Towards the end you will hear a squealing/screeching. You will hear someone, possibly me(?) say it’s the brakes, but I am fairly certain that Sound is not the brakes since they were not being applied at the time. Furthermore, I left shortly after this video and the sound changed in pitch and tone as I drove away, ultimately dissipating and going away completely about a minute and a half to two minutes later. Nevertheless I don’t like sounds like that coming from ‘Tuck.’ Any thoughts? Anything I should be checking?
It sounds like the mud built up on the brake pads and rotors. Has the sound returned at all? I have had sound like that after driving on the beach, sand gets everywhere. Likewise the noise usually disappears after a few minutes but I always go to a car wash on the way home and give the wheels and as much of the undercarriage that I can reach a good soaking with a high pressure hose.
Thanks for the responses. Yes the sound has not returned and I guess is could be the brakes with just crud built up around the components. I’ll have to wash it down today. Honestly, I do like wearing the mud like a badge of honor
it sure is a small rock that got into the disk protection.. you can use anything pointy to take it out, it's easy.
