Without fail, every time I open/close the cargo door the shelf becomes unhinged from its mounts. I have included photos to show that there is horizontal play which seems to be sufficient for the hook to disengage from the plastic pillar resulting in my psychological unhinging.

Anyone else experiencing similar annoyances? Solutions? Ideas?

Ya'll are appreciated. Happy New Year!

the rear shelf on mine only drops when you put about 15lbs of weight on it.

My problem does not require anything to be placed on top of the shelf. It's as if the posts on the side walls of the cargo area are an 1/8 inch too short en total (I believe that would mean each post was short 1/16th).

A solution for this could be drill and tap the end of the studs and locktight a caphead Alan bolt of the right diameter in there but if still under warranty let dealer sort it.

Did your Rennys come w/ the cargo cover, or did you have to order it separate? If so, where did you get them? I've been searching for them.

My cargo cover came with the vehicle. Regarding a potential solution: @glennuk - that is what I am now doing. Heading to HD/Lowes to see what I can find in their hardware section that will be cosmetically agreeable. I'll let you know how it goes.

Near as I can tell the cargo cover required ordering from the factory in order to get, and the problem is that it can't readily be retrofitted without making modifications because of problems ordering the attachment hardware.

We had wanted the tonneau cover too, but we bought off the lot for cheaper than we could have ordered and it hasn't been worth the effort. Maybe someday if I find a Renegade in a wrecking yard with one I'll upgrade.

My reny has exactly the same problem, say, the shelf fell very time. I just removed it and replaced with a canvas cover designed and made by myself. it's cool in my eyes! BTW, I am from China. my reny is made in China as well. the diffence is that it is powered by a 2.0L tigershark, rather than 2.4
