Hey guys, so being I had to purchase a new vehicle asap and had a lower end budget I had to go with the Sport. Which I currently have zero complaints about! I do not know if all Sports come with the roof rails, but mine does not. There ain't nothing up there for the crossbars. I may of not been looking in the correct parts of the internets to figure out how to get started with this, other than the dealer which I have not done yet. Does anyone know where I can buy the rails to get this roof rack situation on the roll? It would be amazing to have one. Any input would be great, I'm new to searching for Jeep related product rather than VW Jetta product haha.
I'd check and see if Yakima has the door jam feet attachments for crossbars available. If so you won't need rails.
Was thinking about doing this. $500 worth of parts. http://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/fo...-renegade.html#/topics/43186?page=1&_k=cfls7x
If you do, please do your own writeup on the install. I'm honestly tempted to remove the rack from our TH simply because we probably won't use it and I could use the extra clearance in the shop on the lift. Probably wouldn't part with it either way though.
I have a Sport that I installed thule podium feet and crossbars and then a roof rack on. Very easy to do, I listed my parts here in any post that I will find. I also took pictures the entire way. I'll see if I can find them too. Jeep by Mojave posted Sep 15, 2016 at 8:14 PM
Awesome! Love the color! Post up the parts list. The parts list from the post I was showing came out over $500 on amazon.
I have been looking into the same thing as i have a sport 4x4 without roof rails, after some searching i found this thread. Page 13 an 14 is where they talk about getting used rails and bolting them right on. I got a set from a local junkyard for $150. I will be trying to install them this weekend. I will let you now how it goes. http://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/fo...f-rails-5.html#/topics/4345?page=13&_k=h9z668
I did ask the local yard to save the hardware and the weather strips. This was super simple to install the factory side rails to a sport 4x4. Take both roof weather strips off. Be easy there is clips and 2 sided tape holding them down. I started at the back and worked my way to the front of the reney. Next cleaned the gutter out. Then i took the double sided tape off of the new used parts and re-apply new tape i used some 3m double sided tape for moldings. Installed the front and middle weather strip. Next put the last weather strip on the back side rail. It just snaps onto the side rail. Align the allen screws with the mounts that where already on the roof. Last but not least just screw them down and you are done. This took maybe 20 minutes. Sent from my SM-G935P using ToasterJeep mobile app
I do not. I called a junkyard and had them take everything off of a wrecked renegade. If you do this make sure you tell them you want all hard and the weather strip's. I know from the dealer you are looking at $600 plus for the parts easy. Sent from my SM-G935P using ToasterJeep mobile app
Good looking jeep/roof basket Mojave! I have the granite color jeep sport with no roof rails and planning to have the same setup like yours, already bought the cross bars and the basket, similar set up like yours... finally now installed
