For those of you who haven't already seen it, I had posted up a trip report highlighting our recent adventures exploring the middle of nowhere Nevada in our 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, also known as Renny. In it, I posted up photos of us taking our Renegade off road but I thought I might be nice to start a separate thread and in it, highlight just some of our very first photos of Renny off road. Needless to say, here they are.

With less than 200 miles on the odometer, we made sure to take our Jeep Renegade off the pavement and onto dirt the very first chance we got. Here's a few shots of it out in the Nevada desert as we made our way home from the dealership in Las Vegas.

Of course, within a week of getting our new Jeep Renegade, we made sure to plan an epic trip almost 600 miles long, one that would take us out into the middle of nowhere Nevada, one that would involve over 100 of those miles to be all on dirt and about 20 of those being hard tough enough to require 4WD and even 4LO. Fortunately, Jeep Renegades with Trailhawks have a low range and one that works pretty well. Here are some shots from our recent trip.

As I've said before, the all new Jeep Renegade is no Wrangler but in so many ways, I'm glad that it's not. What it lacks in its ability to crawl big rocks, it makes up for in superior ride comfort, thanks in BIG part to its IFS/IRS suspension. Of course, this is to say nothing about its significantly better fuel economy. That being said, the Jeep Renegade can definitely hold its own even on rougher terrain and if you have a Trailhawk, the select a low range it has does work surprisingly well and I do hope to have a chance to use it more often.

Looks like ya'll had a good time. I suppose it is only time before you get some custom NV pinstripes and dings. Only true way to break in a new Jeep.

That's me when I saw that last image. But then again, it comes with the territory. Awesome pics as always.

LOL!! It may come with the territory but it always sucks to do any kind of damage. I'm hoping that someone out there will get into the market of making aftermarket bumpers.
