I am buying seat belt extensions for my TH. Was wondering if just plugging them in without the belts will turn off the alarm and warning lite??
    Thank you.

If they're the type that plug a second seatbelt socket into the original seatbelt, then yes, that would keep the alarm from sounding and keep that warning light off.

Shouldn't need to extend the belt to keep it off. I have these little plugs I got from eBay that just plug into the seat belt, and it seemed to keep everything off when I tested them out.

Just out of curiosity... Why do you need it turned off? Heavy stuff in pass seat?

I'm not him, but that's part of it for me. I keep my backpack on the passenger seat, and it triggers it sometimes. Plus there are times when I'm offroading where a seatbelt just makes things harder. If I'm crawling over something and need to lean out or look around to line myself up, it's a pain in the ass with the seatbelt on. And honestly, if I'm just moving it across the street to avoid a ticket on street sweeping day, or if I'm driving down the block to the store, I normally don't bother. I know I'll get lectured for that, but it won't change anything ;)

So... I have been looking into different solutions for the highly annoying chime that you get to listen to for an endless amount of time if you dont maintain a speed over 10pmh for 2 minutes... and today I had an epiphany... why buy anything at all if it is only for times that you are doing 'rock climbing' and such?

I dont know what made me do it today when I was driving, but I reached over and plugged in the passenger side belt into the driver side belt harness.

    THE CHIME STOPPED.

Now... this is a great solution because its visible and temporary so you will notice it... so for those policy abiding people that will get crazy when they read this and get on their moral high ground and say 'you should ALWAYS wear your seatbelt!', its only a temporary solution. No seatbelt extender or clip to remember to remove. Seatbelt chime HACKED.

If they use pressure pads under the seat to detect there in use then you probably need to make a circuit between the pressure sensor with a switch so one way is normal and other way is off but would need a resistor in the off position to keep the can bus system happy.
